Emma Maxwell, who coordinates the firm’s offering to SCVO members, says: “I have always enjoyed working alongside the information officers at SCVO and providing support and advice to SCVO members. Having been involved in assisting with the pro-bono helpline since I was a trainee, I always enjoy having the opportunity to speak to members and to hear about the issues that are affecting not just them and their organisation but the sector more generally. It’s often the case that the types of referrals we see are cyclical and so it really helps us to gain an understanding of the issues of the day within the sector.  It is also heartening to often hear how a small amount of our time can really help members to move forward with an issue or give them a degree of comfort and confidence in taking a particular course of action. I also love that you just never know what the issue is going to be and can get asked to help with a wide range of issues, it keeps you on your toes!”
